ECU: Does JDM = USDM?

So as a result of some diagnostics, it would seem I'm in need of replacing my ECU on my 2001 AP1 S2000. With over 325K miles on it...okay, I guess it is time. However, back ~ 40K miles ago, I purchased a 'complete pull' (tranny/engine/ECU) AP1 w/ ~ 35K miles on it. The motor assy came from a Japanese Domestic S2000. At the time I'd swapped the motor/tranny, I ended up reusing my OEM USDM ECU and all wiring harness, because the damned JDM ECU's harness didn't include a connect to the AP1's VTEC solenoid.

Presently, after some diagnostics, my Honda mech which I trust implicitly over the years working with me on my car, suggested today that he believes the ground is faulty on the ECU and that it needs to be replaced. So, before I go buying another one...while I have a perfectly 'young' used one in my garage, the question of the day would be: Can my JDM ECU be a modular 'simple swap'?

Anyone with experience on this matter, your comments are highly welcome!

Best Regards,
Dave

Short answer is no. Fuel pump wiring is different. And maybe a few other things. I had a customer buy a jdm engine, with harness and ecu, and it would not start. Had to change the harness and ecu back to usdm.

Short answer is appreciated C Ory. Care to point me towards a USDM ECU solution that isn't over $800? Or does that simply not exist...
