Mid-Atlantic's Best Driving Roads
#11
Here's a route I like. I normally take it northbound and then hop on 83 South to get home. But it's just as fun going southbound too.

I'm gonna try and get video of it today.

Awesome!!!!
If you get a chance, could you also give it a rating:
Scenery: 1-10 Rating
Curviness: 1-10 Rating
Road/Pavement Quality: 1-5 Rating
Police Presence: Low(5)-Medium(3)-High(1)
Traffic: Low(5)-Medium(3)-High(1)
Total Rating: Sum of above scores.
If you want to send me the video somehow, I can put it up on my youtube channel and give you credit for the video. If you would rather put it up on your own youtube account, that's fine too.

Here's something I found from a Genesis Coupe forum: http://www.gencoupe.com/255895-post3.html
BTW, since you posted the route, you get to name it!

Here are the videos. I guess I'm calling it the Oregon Ridge Park Sprint.

I have a real gem to add to this. I'm going to make the map now and record the gopro footage next weekend with weather permitting.
Scenery: 8 Rating
Curviness: 10 Rating
Road/Pavement Quality: 3.5 Rating
Police Presence: 5 (non existent on the roads other than 458 and Route 2)
Traffic: 4 - Watch out for bicyclists on unmarked roads
Total Rating: 32.5
Length: Approximately 1 hour with extensions that will follow in subsequent posts.
Overall Impression:
These are extremely fun roads that take you from Annapolis to North Beach, MD in nearly the time it takes you to sit behind grandpa (whom always seems to travel 40mph out of 50mph) on Rt. 2. There is a definite roller coaster feel for passengers while the driver feels like a fighter pilot, hugging turns at various speeds. Don't let the beginning of the route fool you into assuming you can blindly fly around any corner you wish. After you find your way onto Franklin Gibson Rd, take care going around corners and over hills which you can not see through. There will be other people expecting to use the road and there are a few spots that are a tight squeeze. This will not take away from the joy you will have on these roads but it is something to be mindful of at all times.
I've taken several members down this small portion of my "Southern Maryland Cruise" and they have all thoroughly enjoyed it. With the tree cover Spring and Fall are optimum times for this route but the shade is also cooling during the hot summer days.

TL;DR:
A-E are faster paced and easier to manage.
E-H are far more technical, slightly slower speeds, caution urged around blind turns and over blind hills
