Default S2000 trunk leak, possibly rain rail

One day I noticed there was a pool of water in my trunk. I took out all the lining and spare tire trying to troubleshoot the problem. It's been weeks monitoring the leak, reading threads, watching youtube videos, etc and so far I've sealed up the vent, changed both headlight gaskets, cleared drain holes, checked antenna, and the leak still persisted. I finally was able to narrow it down and it seems like it's leaking from the rain rail. The water drips exactly underneath the rain rail near both wheel wells, but driver is worse than passenger. I messaged Lim's and will contact Pollet Auto tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has any experiences? Or if anyone knows someone that does soft top install/repairs in the NoVA area?

Thanks in advance.

Hey OP, i've experienced this with a few customers of mine, as I've installed over 200 soft tops on S2000's. While it appears to be the rain rail, the probability that it is actually the hard rubber molding at the base of the soft top is high. Check out the link below, part # 16.

There is a gasket that is part of this piece that fails, causing water to leak and make its way into the trunk.

I've read a thread where the person ended up tightening it all down and replacing a few things like the rivers. I believe he did replace some sort of gasket as well. According to him it stopped the leak. Unfortunately, I don't have the time and tools hence was hoping to get it done. Do you know anyone in the area? I saw a couple of your threads and wish you were closer.

Did you end up fixing this? I'm starting to get pools of water in my trunk. Does the soft top need removed to replace this gasket?
