Default Wanted to get opinion about going to track in rain

I registered for BeaveRun tommorow but looking at the forecast, its a 80% chance of thunderstorms. I was planning on leaving tonight, and racing all day tommorow but don't know if I really want to push my car when its super wet out.

Wanted to see if anyone has track experience while it was raining and how it was. Did you spin out or come close to it more than you regularly would?

Just want to get an opinion, I can lose $50 if I cancel today or just go and see how it works out.

thanks. Nik.

If you don't go it will by dry and sunny.

Drving on a track in the wet will force you to learn how to be smooth.

Agreed. A wet track day may sound dreadful...but it can offer an incredible opportunity to learn your S2000's limits in the wet. Yeah, an overt input might get you muddy...but it will just be mud, sliding off the road and into a run-off designed to safely slow you down. Not a ditch... Not a tree...

And that instructor will be there to help you appreciate learning the correct inputs, etc.

And...and...it will be sunny anyway .

Sitting here looking outside its hard to believe.

I pray that it pours in the morning and then starts drying so I can go harder and harder. Either way I can't wait to go!!!

Was raining the whole way up till the last hour. Got there it was dry, had 3 session in dry weather, then started drizzling, still had a really nice run where I passed a lotus elise, S4 and Z06 vette. Then it started coming down pretty bad, went out one last time, the z06 that I was keeping up with was on the verge of spinning out so I called it a day and didn't want to risk anything happening to my car.

Never spun out, went side ways a couple times, had a nice ass drift though pretty much all of turn 10. It was lots of fun and I'm def glad I decided to go.

I will post a few phone videos later but they suck.

I'm gonna close this thread because I opened one just like this in the racing and comp forum.
