Possible New Owner
Hi Guys
I am trying to get my hands on a new S2000 but I would like to ask the following questions:
1. I have heard alot about the S2000, but one issue that would get me worried is the "low torque", does this mean that the driving experience is not that good and that it doesnt accelerate like a normal sports car?
2. How is the service quality of the trading enterprises?
3. How much insurance costs putting in consideration that I am a 25 year old UAE national?
Please help me out guys cuz I am hesitating
Hey there,
Welcome to the forum!
Unless you are used to American Muscle cars all your life then I seriously don't think it will affect you much. The car is very easy to drive and traffic - ask any owner. As far as accelerate like a normal sports car - well once you hit VTEC, it accelerates like nothing you have driven before!
TE is pretty good, compared to other dealers in this part of the world. They have the same pitfalls as others, in sometimes they can speak a bit of rubbish, but if you are going to modify, we can tell you who to talk to in TE servicing!
Insurance is something that is up in the air. If you have any no claims certificate that will help. If not you may be looking at a premium and may want to put it on an older brothers name or even your Dad if that is an option. Some people have paid up to 10% - ouch!
Hope this helps, but I can safely say that if you do decide to go with the S, you won't be dissapointed.
Good luck with your decision!

Thanks Arfiman
I would like to say that I have been a 4x4 driver all my life (own a jeep wrangler and cherokee) so I am not used to driving any thing lower than a wrangler!
but any way thank you for your comments and I am determined to buy the s2000. I hope that I will join the club once I get it.
1.What is a normal sports car? Is it's a SLK 200 Kompressor or a Ferrari Enzo?
2. Depens on what mechanic does your car. I will better not comment on this one since I want you to join the club.
3.Insurance for a 25y. local should be no problem, price will depend on the no-claim or not.
Hope to see you at the meets soon. Oh and if you are wondering which color is the fastest, go for "berlina black" LOL

Welcome monsterdog and congrats on the car!
After you've broken it in, you need to bring it to the Autodrome. Only on the track will you know what the car can really do.
Despite what jakub tries to tell you, the silver S2000 is fastest on track.
...when it is working...
