Bitcoin is totally a gamble, I agree, and there are more stable longer term investments. Can't argue its performance though.

At $4,300/share, I've apparently missed the boat.
I don't understand the mining process, read a lot about it.

at the risk of sounding like my grandfather, $4,300 can buy a nice amount of shares in a sturdy stock/mutual fund with decent dividends.
This, right here. I'm 100% with you. Unbeknownst to me, A friend of mine was an early adopter. I realized when he got a GS350 F Sport with all the bells and whistles out of nowhere.
Told me he cashed some bitcoin and bought it, this was about two years ago. I bet if I had done this a long time ago, it would have been good but now it's too expensive. There's some
new bitcoin like thing out now, my dad's cousin is mining it. No clue how it all works lol.

whats even crazier is I wrote this 13 days ago....bitcoin valued at $4,300. Today it is right at $6,000. If I only swallowed my skepticism and stopped belly aching two weeks ago....could have made some additional loot.

the last two weeks have been kind to my portfolio, but bitcoin again was a missed opportunity.

With that said guys, I think its still not too late to get in on this. I don't see 10k or 25k out of the realm of possibilities. Every few years, the block reward for bitcoin mining halves, thereby decreasing the amount of coins created per day. Typically, this has resulted in a price jump.

some say it still has legs...to many "experts" throwing mud at it though.

It has no "real" value. Just a scam. It only has value until people realize that the king has no clothes.
