Have Roth in:

FLPSX
FEXPX
FSMKX

Have 401(k) in:
TRRCX

Have Fidelity 401(k) in:
FFTHX

Looking at some small cap exposure for my '07 contribution.

Anyway, information about S&P 500 index fund is good information. Any broad-based market index fund will be good over the long haul due to low expenses and the inability of most actively managed funds to beat their respective index over a long time horizon.

If you are interested in closed end funds that pay a nice dividend you may want to check RMT or EEF

If your goal is having all your funds growing as quickly as possible - and if you're not worried about all of them dropping simultaneously - you may have a good mix here, although for the most part FEXPX isn't adding much value unless you're very aggressive.

If your goal is a well-diversified portfolio, these mutual funds aren't doing it.

The three in your Roth have average correlations of returns of about 80%; throw in those in your 401(k)s and that rises to over 90%: great when everything's going up together, terrible when everything's going down together.
I presume you're a student of MPT. That is a good thing. I agree my portfolio isn't as diversified as it should be, and my investments are too highly correlated, but I'm young and am being more aggressive. My two lifestyle funds will automatically default to less aggressive mixes as I near retirement age (25+ years away. In the meantime, I do want more small cap exposure and plan to address that during 2007.

What tool did you use to test the correlation of my investments?

My own. It'll be on the market in 2 - 3 weeks (I hope!). When it is I'll add a link in my signature.

Good luck!

Seven of my students took a practice exam last Saturday; even more will be taking their Level I exam this Saturday.

Get a good night's sleep on Friday.
