IS MY EMPLOYER EVADING TAXES VIA ME?
OK..... So I work for a company. I started a year ago or so and I worked as a contracted employee. I was given hand written checks as pay and I was "self employed" and paid my tax at the end of the year.
THEN I became "salary" Now he's kindly avoided giving me a copy of my tax paperwork etc. Which we have a language barrier etc., hes a strange guy in some ways but whatever.
Now I get paid on hand written checks the last 6 months or so and I wonder to myself "could he not be telling the IRS I'm an employee that is contracted still and just "loose" my W-2 and at the end of the year I'll owe money?" He'll claim that I agreed to pay the rest?
Yet I filled out a W-2 and I-9 and I filed married and independent (2).
Isn't the company liable to pay back taxes if the IRS says I haven't paid any (because he didn't file as he should have for me)?
I have NO PAY STUBS as it's a hand written check.

Check w/ the Social Security Administration to see if he's paying SS taxes - both your share and his. Everything sounds a bit shady - any employer s/b able to bridge your gross and net pay w/ itemized deductions.
