Mint.com is always free, you don't have to pay at any point. You can load as few or as many of your accounts into as you want. if you only want to track your checking/savings accts you can do that, or if you only want to track your credit cards, you can do that too. It also tracks investment accounts, student loans, mortgages, and almost anything else money related. If you are in the market for a new product they also have a pretty big suggestion section to help you find the right product for you whether it be a new CC, mortgage or high interest checking, all depending on your financial goals.

For budgeting, I made my own excel template.

I pay everything by credit cards to rack up points. When I use to carry cash, I would buy stupid stuff I dont need. And I use Excel I update. Also I found I dont buy as many lotto tickets not carrying cash. Although its hard lighter for my pocket. Although I use to have a cash buisness before that didnt help. I use a Windows Based software called 'Checkbook'. I never liked a checkbook register. Notebook seems legit though. I tried mint and didn't like having all my info out there like that. These places do have occasional security breach. All you get after that is an email saying sorry, and watch your accounts because someone may have gotten you info.
