Default Warrants

I'm just curious to see how many investors here buy warrants on a regular basis or ever.

I'm looking at some (very inexpensive right now) with maturity date of october 2012. They have been pounded in these markets and i'm sure I could sell them as a double in a year max.

anyways... who buys them?

Not me, I prefer options. More liquid.

Warrants are a little goofy if you aren't the original owner versus options. I don't know anyone who trades them and I work in an office of 120 traders.

I'd rather do options/LEAPS.

If I knew of a sure-fire double, I'd put everything I could on it instead of going to a car forum for validation.

i didn't realize there was a public market for warrants. i only know of them in the context of equity upside to participants at other levels of the capital structure, and to the extent they are severable, are sold between institutions...
