Yes good new thinking that benefits the products we buy is great, but who questions is actual usefulness? for instance-

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/techa...cid=spartandhp

Who actually needs a bendy phone? I don't, think about it the same tech that gave us curved screen TV's that are now bombing in the TV market.

Let me suggest an alternative just as useful use for the technology, use it to produce floppy table legs, just as useful and just as practical.

Any other ideas for useless innovations and alternative impractical uses?

3D TV. Now there's a flop.
The 3D glasses could be worn at fancy dress costume parties in 10 years time!

"Ya think we can sell these?" is the discussion, not "Is this useful?" Walk into any WalMart if you need an example. This stuff exists merely because we'll buy it.

BTW, I have a 3D capable TV and BluRay player. I believe we used that feature once or twice. Bought neither for the 3D feature, it was just there so we tried it. Requires special glasses that connect wirelessly to the TV -- I think they're in a drawer somewhere.

I use 3d glasses with my projector very often. It's great, way better than the cinema.
