Default It'a all a matter of prospective, terrorists

Who am I?

“The story of an orphaned boy who becomes radicalised after a military strike kills his family. He is indoctrinated into an ancient religion, joins a band of rebel insurgents, and carries out a terrorist attack, killing 300,000 people,”

And the answer is.................................

Luke Skywalker!

Clever little piece from Huffington Post, Mark Hamill's Twitter posts in response made me giggle.

Luke was not an orphan as his father was not dead. Proven by his ability to connect with his father and brings peace (temporarily) to the galaxy by binning off Palpatine.

But yes, one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

Terrorism is a legitimate, legal military action when conducted by recognized military forces including those in rebellion (you go, Luke!). The goal is to demonstrate to the populace that their government cannot or is unwilling to protect them. Carpet and fire bombing cities during WW2 was certainly terrorism directed against the civil populations for that very purpose.

"An orphan (from the Greek: ορφανός orphanós)[1] is a child whose parents are dead, unknown, or have permanently abandoned him or her."

I think at the time unknown and abandoned apply.

IIRC Star Wars is set "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

But I think we might be taking this all a bit too seriously

The wookies' weapon of choice, although technically called a "bowcaster", apparently:

Bugger you are quite correct, but a long time ago from what perspective, our timeline or that of the far far away galaxy?

You can never take Star Wars too seriously.
