Valley of Fire Drive - Sunday 7/09/06
I know, I know...last minute posts don't get alot of replies but we've decided to head to the Valley of Fire in the morning. I haven't been out there yet and am told it is worth it.
We'll be at Sonic @ Flamingo at 7am and leave shortly after.
All are welcome. Post up here if you are in.

Well, the "group" part of the drive didn't happen but I ended up going out there anyway. Although it took awhile to get there, once off the freeway the road got interesting/entertaining and the scenery was beautiful.
Lots of elevation changes and tight curves in the park area. The road itself was smooth and well maintained. I got caught in a couple thunderstorms and had to pull the E-brake and put the top up, but those passed within a few minutes and it was back to top-down cruisin'.
The surprisingly small amount of other cars on the road let me drive just about any way I wanted.
I'll definitely go out there again.
