Default bankruptcy

ya know

sometimes people have to file bankruptcy BUT as a bill collector to me it's just a sign of weakness and an excuse to get away from one's obligations -

Don't live beyond your means and don't use bankruptcy as an excuse not to pay!

maybe it's time to look at what you're buying / tossing your money away on and prioritize. Heck if i had 20.00 i would not blow it on say going out but rather i would by food and pay a bill.. i would sure like a a new / better car or to live in a house like Bill's .. BUT i know i can't afford it hence the reason i drive what i have and live where i do

granted - maybe i could understand it if it's due to medical bills / unforeseen expenses that cause such a dire actions BUT not because it's time to pay your bills

i am glad the laws were changed a few years ago to make it harder for folks to walk away - still pisses me off that people think they can just walk away

WHAT NO WAY...

i think there are people who need the Government's help certain times BUT there are also people sho simply skirt the system and think bankruptcy is an easy way out because they have bills and bought way more than they could afford - the government should NOT help these people

maybe we need to bring back debtors jail

I agree with the debtors jail.

Simple math:

Buy house for $600,000.
Market falls out.
House now worth $300,000, but still paying on $600,000 note.
So some just let it go to default and leave. While saving about $2/k month while a bank/financial institution has to take the hit (in which we all suffer).

Those that do should go to jail.

While **** happens, you bought in over your head. DERP!

Also... that guy with the Prius in Cali? $700,000 chapter 7 bankruptcy, 65+K credit card debt and lots of other shady **** he's done, like stealing the kitchen the day before the bank forclosed, etc... tell me he's not looking for a Toyota payout.

I'm telling ya... if the feds figure this one out, all those peopel claiming Toyota failure can look right at this guy for Toyota failing to take them seriously.

hey he only said scott or bill i guess the rest of us it's ok

I also don't' believe in the bankruptcy as an out.

I also think drug testing for unemployment or food stamps should be mandated. if you have the money and a job sure do what you want with it but I don't' think that is a necessity when times are tough.

I am also not a fan of mass and child support I understand supporting you child, but paying out 50% of your income while the mother can sit at home and have no job isn't right.... (yes i know taking care of a child is full time job but a lot of ppl do it and have a pt job at least.)

mass is a very good state to live in to abuse the system. I bet they could save millions if they just cracked down on the abuse.....

good points on the drug tests but then we'd be invading their privacy heck i had to take drug / alcohol tests and pay for them when i got tagged for my reckless driving.. people getting free money should too
