Ted, I'd let you borrow mine but the hardware swap is an extreme pain in the azz. It's not just uninstalling/installing them, but you have to play with all four connecting points to get them to fit as every car is a little different. You would have to move around the mounts/catchers/strikers; add/remove add'l shims, etc...

OEM might involve less play, but my Mugen one took some time to adjust in order to fit perfectly the first time around.

If you have your own hardware for your car, we can give it a shot. Mine is black so it'll look fine on your car. It actually has more head room than OEM.

I think LRP specified OEM hardtop, but I can't imagin they don't let you by w/ an aftermarket one.

It's not an OEM one so if they look closely enough they might say NO based on that. Rules state it must be an OEM hard top.

Ben,
does the mugen unit use the factory hardtop kit? or is it mugen specific?

Pinky-
Last time I was out with SCDA they had us tech our own cars....
Some times I worry about how lax they seem to be with regards to this stuff. But I think as long as I had a hardtop Ian would let me run.....

They let you tech your own car? OK THEN! I guess laxed is an understatement.

Ted, Mugen hartop uses oem hardware kit. More specifically, the only essential parts for the car are the 2 catchers on the A pillar and 2 other ones just behind the door.

Now, there was a TSB couple years back for the A pillar catcher. I forget the exact reason for the TSB (noise, weak?), but essentially they replace the original catchers with the hardtop ones. I just remember I did this TSB, so I have an extra set that I am happy to lend to you. Then again, Honda might have switched to hardtop A pillar catcher altogether for later model years.

So...all you need to come up with are the catchers behind the seats. They are quite bulky and heavy - each can easily weighs 5 lb. or more. I honestly think the hardware attributes half of the overall hardtop weight.

You know what, Ted - Fock'it! If you can't easily find the other 2 catchers, take them off my car.

Neh, too far. But I guess I have no right to complain given how far you have to drive...

I am not going. You can use my top.
