Owning 2 cars isn't really a possibility for me because of space issues but I've had my heart set on an S2000 for years... has anyone had any experience driving one year round in NE? Any rust issues?

I DD my '05 SSM. I purchased it in CT in June of 2018 and DD'd it through this past winter in Boston/North Shore area. Luckily we had an easy winter with minimal precipitation, I put Yokohama Iceguards on the car and it did very well, I had a blast with it.

I DD mine first year, except when snow or ice. Kept the summer tires on (couldn't afford winter tires). I got caught in unexpected snow a few times.
I wouldn't do it again. Too much chance of someone running into you. More than that, rust is the enemy.

DD mine first year , got a slew of problems then rust started forming everywhere and ever since then I've garaged my car and since I'm now building it I've been sanding and POR-15'd most the underbody because it got bad fast. (in my eyes surface rust is a no no)

Every car that is driven around in New England in winter has rust issues. No exceptions!
Look at the Bring-A-Trailer auctions. All of the nice cars are from California, Arizona or Oregon. Maybe a North Carolina car once in a while. Nothing at all from the Northeast.

I drive my s2000 during the winter. I actually prefer it over my other vehicle which I also drive during the winter. Snow tires are a must.
Rust is an issue but mainly on getting hardware unbolted.
Tons of rock chips from sand trucks and what nots. I advise a clear bra for protection.
