The flaps in front of the front wheels
OK, here's the deal... we can all see easily that cars without the OEM front lip spoilers have two flaps, one in front of each front wheel, flush mounted to the inside of the wheel well. Those flaps extend to about only 3 inches above the ground, if I'm not mistaken.
At first, I thought when the OEM front lip spoiler is installed, those flaps need to be removed. Now, I know my dealer just forgot to put them back on after they installed the front spoiler on my car. I need to call my dealer. /Rog |
i don't think any of us here has the front spoiler option.. so we don't know...
|
The installation instruction did not specify to remove those flaps. I also checked the S2000 Options Brochure and the car pictured has the flaps with the front chin spoiler installed.

From what I understand, the flaps are part of the pre-delivery preparation process done by the dealer. Apparently, the flaps are not installed at the factory for transportation reasons. I would contact your dealer and insist they give you a pair since you never received yours.

I see. So it's not like the flaps were removed for the front chin spoiler installation. They were never there in the first place. I'll call the dealer first thing Monday morning.
Thanks for the info. /Rog |
Got flaps. Will install.

Congrats Rog.
It's funny, I just ordered a new flap for the drivers side today at the dealer while getting my oil changed. I scuffed mine on a curb a while back. It was hardly noticeable but I'm anal. Cost me $22.00. |
Im not sure but I think these flaps actually cause a downforce ant the front wheels making the car more stable at high speeds. Uhhh I think

Downforce AT the front wheels

I have the stock front spoiler and the flaps, get em even if you want to put em in the garage!
