Default New addition to our family

Steph and the kids have been wanting a dog for quite a while. For one, the kids never get to play with Ziggy because of what he does for work. Steph always feels secure in the house when Zig is home, but not so much when we are at work. So, the idea was to get a dog for the kids to play with and to keep watch over the house.

A friend at work recently bred his German Shepherd to his Belgian Malinois. He was giving away the pups to good homes so I said why not. Ironically, the shepherd/malinois mix was EXACTLY what I was looking for and have been asking around in our dog training circles for one.

She is almost eight weeks old right now. Steph got to name her and picked out Zoe from a list since it was similar to Ziggy and she thought it would be cute. Here she is:

Steph says I am being soft on her already. She melts my heart!

She has been very good and knows that outside is where to do her business but she still has an accident every now and then. Crate training is a beotch!!!! She can howl for quite a while sometimes when we try to get her used to her crate. It's a lot of fun though, I always look forward to coming home to see her.

She should be around 65 pounds or so if she is in great shape and up to 85 if she is fat. Male malinois and shepherds are usually around 75-80 in great shape and the females are a bit lighter built.
