Hi s2ki, new joiner. My wife asked me to have a shop check out the s2000 I'm buying, before completing transaction. I think the car's likely very solid, but good to get the wife seal of approval. Are there places that the forum would suggest that is open on Saturday's near the South Shore, MA?

I'm not sure anyone will be able to point you in the direction for a pre purchase inspection without a drive of some distance.

What year, how many miles, service history, at what mileages has the timing been adjusted, carfax, has the car been tracked (not necessarily bad, may indicate an enthusiast who takes care of his car), any history of mis-shifts. From the under the hood thread, west coast high mileage cars are seeming to have some major issues.

Insist on a compression test and a leak down test on the engine. Any performance shop or dealer should be able to do.
