Lawyer up. Not as serious as it is in most states, thankfully.

Statie, or local?

Friends of mine got these from state trooper, had it reduced to careless in court +big bucks.

I really think you should get a lawyer. It'll help in the long run with insurance premiums rising if you don't get the ticket lowered to a less serious offense

assuming you have NJ license - totally different for NY license - you'll be able to nogtiate it. lawyer, as it was noted, is a must. if possible, get a lawyer in same ordinance. they will most likely have connection with local court house.

Another victim of our bureucratic "safety" system. It's ok man, I've gotten much worse tickets or combination thereof . One of two things; They will either drop it to two points with a higher fine or give you the five full points. Depending on how good your lawyer is...which really depends on how deep your pockets are . Depending on the judge they may give you a court ordered suspension from 1-6 months. But thats not always the case. This is coming from someone who has gotten this same citation 3+... so trust me on this one

P.S. NOT HAVING A LAWYER IS NOT AN OPTION
