Default Moving to NYC area, where do you park/store your S2000?

Hi all,
I'm moving from MD to the NYC area within the next month. I'm not sure where yet, thinking Brooklyn or Queens but I'm concerned about bringing my S. I'm worried about it getting stolen, broken into, etc. What do you guys do to protect it? Where do you park and store it during the warmer months and where do you store it in the cold months?

You must park it in a garage otherwise I n queens or Brooklyn it's only a matter of time before the thieves and morons parking get at your car.

NOT the streets

You need a garage or if you can find someone that has a house with parking see if they will rent out a spot.

First off, welcome to NY metro.

What brings you to NY?

dont leave that car outside, I have been all over this city for work. If you leave it outside, it's only a matter of time.

Thanks jlozano. Film & TV work. There were over 300 films and 52 TV series shot in NY last year. I don't know the number of films (far less than 300) but only 1 TV series. MD is not a film/TV friendly state.

It sounds like you have the option of leaving the car in Maryland. If that's the case- you may want to leave it. You'll quickly learn that owning a car in NYC is a luxury, not a necessity. The subway is a lot less stressful than driving & parking no matter what boro you end up in.
On the other hand- if you simply must bring your car with you, I'd move out here first without the car, find yourself a guaranteed spot and only then go back and get your car.
I'm sure you can search Craigslist and find tons of people renting out a garage. But 9 out of 10 of them will be full of kid's bicycles, paint cans, shovels, etc etc. One day you'll show up and find a scratch on the car and never be able to prove it wasn't already there. Keep your car in MD til you find the perfect spot.

An S2000 parked on the street is a sitting duck. I'm in agreement don't bring it till you can park it inside somewhere. My first S was totalled. I kept paying for my empty garage spot 6 or more months before I got another S.
