Default adjusting the clutch pedal

anyone have experience adjusting the clutch pedal? and what exactly are you adjusting? the overall length while releasing? or the actual engagement point? i'd like to have my clutch engage a bit earlier(closer to the firewall)(?) when i release. as of now it engages when i am almost off the pedal and id rather it catch as soon as i release the clutch. get what im saying? can this be acheived by adjusting the clutch pedal? sorry for the ramble

hope this helps! https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry5234269

I personally like the high engagement but I don't have much experience in other manual transmission cars.

ONLY ATTEMPT THIS, IF YOU CAN MANAGE TO DO IT YOURSELF
Because you are going to have to try this at least like 5 times to get it where you like it. I did mine mayb 10 times, since im very picky about little details... hehe

anyways
1. Loosen the 12mm nut, one with the red arrow
2. Adjust the clutch height (Blue arrow):
Turn the rod until you get the right clutch height you want.
3. Adjust clutch free play:
HOLD the clutch (don't let it move up and down) and slowly move the rod left and right to adjust clutch free play. This should be about an 1"
4. DO NOT move the rod. and slowly tighten the nut back on.
5. Test drive, and readjust if you need to

It's going to take quiet a few try to get it where you like it, so dont be frustrated

to echo hiper, i did this in my race car. since the clutch enguages so high, i wanted the pedal as low as possible. def one of the best free mods on the car.

i finally got a chance to play with this today and i still have a few questions:

#1 i have a dark liquid(lube?) coming from the rod(?) it was there before i started to play around and seems to have dripped down onto the carpet in the past? normal?
#2 after adjusting, the length needed to depress the pedal changed but not quite the engagement point? how do you change that?

btw im tryin to get it where the clutch engages closer to the floor rather than near the pedal end.

thanks

s2jay...

#1 is brake fluid, from not changing the clutch fluid. after a change or two it should stop

#2 there is only ONE correct adjustment for the clutch rod...zero freeplay. You are trying to compensate for a worn clutch disc (clutch grabs high)

altering the rod will shorten the throw of the clutch, and ruin the transmission. this is the number one cause of second gear grind.
