I know a lot of you are located in the 5 boros & L.I, so it may be a bit too far for you, but for anyone in the NNJ or Westchester / Hudson Valley NY area, there is always tons of people going on mountain runs early Sunday mornings in Harriman State Park and Bear Mtn.
Weather permitting, I go every Sunday morning. This past Sunday I saw air-cooled porsches, a Lotus Elise, some old-school datsuns, and even 2 aerial atoms. But not a single s2000.
It seems that alot of people head to Harriman State Park right after the weekly Sunday morning Cars&Coffee event at Peekskill Brewery.

 

What time do you usually head out and what would be a good meeting point?

 

I'm usually there between 7 and 8am. I try to get a few runs in before the hikers and cyclists start showing up.
I think Tiorati Circle would be a good place to meet.

 

On Aug 14th, OEM+ is hosting a cars & culture event and There might be something going on the 21st. So far the 28th is looking like the date

The roads twist & turn through the woods of Harriman State Park. It's beautiful, especially when you're driving past one of the lakes.

 

I just got here and Arden Valley appears to be closed.

 

Just spoke with a park employee. The bridge at the end of Arden Valley Road that goes over the highway and leads to 17A has been condemned. In other words- Arden Valley Road will be closed for a very long time.
