Default Any local race tracks that don't require roll cage in S2000?

Hi,
I contacted track down in Vineland NJ and they said the s2000 or any convertible needs a roll cage. Is this a state to state issue? Are there any race tracks in NY, CT or PA that I can take my stock s2000 to run it around a closed track??

Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Jeff

The Track Daze HDPE events at Summit Point, WVA and Dominon tracks allow running with only OEM roll hoops not passing the broomstick test. I just checked with Jeremy again and he confirmed same for 2016.

https://www.trackdaze.com/

If this is brand new to you you'll be a novice for a while, see you at Summit Point May 14-15 and Oct 1-2. You will HAVE to run with top DOWN and that means even if it is raining, or sit it out. You will have an instructor in the right hand seat. Some are better than others but all have a lot of track time. You may think you are a "good driver" but you'll quickly find out that you suck and have much to learn!

I'd say the Friday at the Track at Summit Point is actually your best introduction to track driving but they won't allow without a roll bar. A roll cage is a whole different thing and is only required when you get into pure racing situations. All of these track day things only allow limited overtaking and only when invited. You are out there to learn how to hit entry, apex and exit points, brake properly, etc. For any of these you have to have an SA2010 helmet, period. Don't show up with an M or a 2000 or 2005 helmet.

You won't be able to run Dominion or any of the open track events until you have probably 7-10 track days at different tracks and earn a solo clearance.

Again, if you are totally new to going to a track day you should spend a hundred hours reading up on the many good posts online about it and then many hours doing the brake fluid flush and perhaps pads plus the other stuff but the fluid change is mandatory before every track day.

If you can pass a broomstick test you should be able to run HPDE at most local/regional tracks like NJMP with NASA for example. The car needs to have integrated roll protection which is probably what they were referring to and which the S2000 does have (how effective it is may be another subject).

There is reference to OEM top only above. Are organizations really picky about OEM vs Replica?

Thanks.

In my experience, no.
