so basically if your still on the waitlist is it even worth coming to the site the day of to pay register to participate? most likely will get turned off because they already reached the max carcount registered online?

No even though you are waitlisted you should still come they usually still let your run. But with the recent changes in weather Sunday is pending right now

haha im headed in that same path. 16in snow tires are cheap. if they last 2-3 years its worth it haha
