Default Autostrada in PA

Hey guys/gals,

Has anyone heard of Autostrada (car dealer) in PA? I am selling my s2k and I guess they saw my ad on cars.com. They called me offering to sell my car for me.

They would charge a fee and a commission when sold. Duration was for 60 days and if it was not sold, they would extend for another 60.

The car will sit on their lot during the time and the guy said its usually sold within the first 60 days.

Has anyone tried them or heard of this kind of dealings?

Thanks.

Ed

You can probably do the same locally..

Have you tried ebay?

Also, what are they charging you?

I sold a 2002 BMW 325ci I had through a local European shop/dealer that I used. He charged me about $500 commission once he sold it but he probably was able to get $1500-$2000 more then I could being a dealer over a private party.

yeah, they would charge $500 for the commission.

They also wanted $189 to detail the car and some other stuff.

Thanks.

$500 sounds reasonable

$189 sounds like an easy way for them to make money.

Where do you live?

sucks that you are having a hard time selling your car; market is so soft

FWIW, my shop put up my car on cars.com through their dealer inventory site, and didn't' require I bring my car there until they had an interested buyer

Kos Motorcars in Montclair, NJ; they usually stick to selling cars that they service at the shop, but you never know...

Can you set the lowest amount that you are willing to sell the car for? Sounds like you are setting yourself up to possibly be bent over IMHO.
