Hey, Billman, I am a newbie and cannot figure out how to message you directly.Anyway, my question is about replacing the valve retainers: Is there any issue with replacing both intake and exhaust retainers in an AP1 with AP2 versions? I bent the intake valves on a money shift; do you know of anyone in the Nashville, TN area you would recommend for head work?
Thanks for your input; I am a longtime fan.

jordanksartell is near you and will fix it right the first time

Pay the $20 for membership and you can pm him now. You will see it was well worth it.

We went to Mecca, but I felt more like we were two geeks standing at the wall seeking counsel from Harris Trinsky, the geek guru in Freaks & Geeks!

Little tidbits of advice here and there as he worked. Sounded like it might have been the first Canton oil pan that he's seen, and my oil leak turned out to be a figment of my imagination.

He worked efficiently and no wasted motion since he had enough of all the right tools immediately on hand - not like me where I am always searching for a wrench or socket.

I'll make Aashish & myself a little tool he showed us for twisting in the piston on the rear brake calipers.

We had great weather on drives in and out. Took the ferry home on a flip of the coin decision. But he tapped me out money wise, so I had to borrow a quarter back from Billman for the coin toss.

It was worth the trip, if for no other reason that we received positive reinforcement - and he did some service that puts our cars back into tip-top condition.
