Car stolen in front of apartment.....

Hey guys at about 430am this morning my car was stolen. Was getting up to go to work when I heard my exhaust. Looked outside and they were already driving off. If anyone sees it, it's 2005 BB with black rpf1 rims and hks hi power exhaust. License gjx4858

Update 8/16/18
I got a call yesterday from a detective. They said they have my car at the pound. Apparently undercover cops had bought my car from some car thieves less than a month after it was stolen. They had to build up a case against them so they had to hold onto my car. I don't know how I feel. I had already let it go when detectives called me up a year and a half ago and said they were closing the case on my car. I said "ok" and moved on since then. I haven't seen the car yet but I will see it sometime next week.

That sucks dude. Hopefully you get it back somewhat intact. I've just had my S for a little over a week and I keep hearing these horror stories about cars being stolen or vandalized, horrible stuff! Any idea how they stole your car so that I can try to prevent it from happening?

I couldn't tell you. No broken glass. I was brushing my teeth and I heard my exhaust go off. I looked out and they were already driving off.

Sorry for your loss!

Theft seems common with non-secure parking. I see the word "apartment" in many of these. Two in the past day.

I'm curious how these thefts occur with the ignition "immobilized" or doesn't that really do anything?

No mention of hearing alarms in either of the last couple although I imagine you'd hear that sound just before the exhaust if the immobilizer does nothing. Locking the car invites top slashing. Those of us who've decided to risk parking in these conditions should consider stronger deterrents but I've no glib suggestions.

Well that sucks. I assume you've filed a police report, ask all the neighbors and local businesses if they have cameras and start talking to your insurance company.

Good luck.

A garage and an S2000, you must have both. Then you must store the S2000 in the garage.

I often wonder if the thieves watch here:

Damn it Dave! :angry2: I saw you post up a few days ago about a hardtop. Haven't seen you post before then in quite some time. Maybe a couple of years. So sorry you had to come back to post this. Wow!

Yeah it's been awhile since I posted. Hoping it gets recovered but prepared for the worst.
