Default Considering Selling my S2k and Accord

This thought has plagued my mind for a few months now. Im trying to move outta my house and finally get going on my own place. The cost of living on LI is pretty damn expensive as it is. I have a pretty good paying job right now. but 2 cars and insurance is kinda expensive. The thought of selling my s2000 and my Accord to pick up an 07 Acura TL-s entered my head a few months ago. Payments will be dirt cheap because of a Huge down payment, plus I work for Acura so that helps. Dont try to convince me to keep the s2k and use it as a daily driver because thats just not practacle for me. but what do you guys think? I know most of these respones will be biased due to the fact that we all love out s2000's but taking some info from the people who are out on their own is what im really looking for. If i do have to cash in the chips on my s2000 it will be missed for sure, but right now im just looking to get on with my life. [/rant]

well i think maybe being a responsible 'adult' is always a good idea, if i were you i would really do it right. sure 2 cars are expensive but if you sell them both to get a brand new TL-S you are only really saving on insurance. if i was gonna sell both my cars to save some cash i would replace them both with something a bit cheaper. i know it sucks to step down but i'd rather save more money than some money if it meant giving up something i loved so much.

just my .02 cents. i'm gonna back up whatever you do in the end.

......and i get that fujitsubo. good luck man!

well then in that case, maybe you've got something here. it would definitely be the suck to lose your s2k, but a tl-s is not exactly a bad rebound car

have i mentioned that i get your fuji?

Are there other options in terms of looking for a place that is not in LI? Would you save on tax even over the money and time spent on the commute?

Im not moving out of state yet.

If i sell the car it will be going back to the stock springs, exhaust and intake. dont worry. there will be a seperate parts and Car FS thread.

Markus I have to say I know what your thinking,
I too want to own my own place and have thought many times
about selling my S ... granted I don't live at home but I have to
say after being at your house the other day it seems as though
you and your family are close and get along. so why the rush ?
See my thing is I need a balance sure I want to be responsible
save money and buy a house but I also LOVE driving my
S and of course hanging out with you and other club members.
so all work and no play I think would drive me crazy. I also agree
with Mike about if your going to sell the cars you really should just
go all the way get something cheap and good on gas and then save
like crazy.

To be honest I don't know what the answer is..... I think it comes down
to each individual. So the only thing I'd suggest is think about it hard
I would hate to see you regret selling after a few months also think
about how and what you will be able to afford after you move out ?
And if you do sell when and how long before you could get another S2K
again there are allot of people who sell and then come back again
because the missed it so much

Well I don't know if I have helped you but good luck, IMO try not to be
so hard on yourself about what you should be doing.... because part of
the fun in life is the journey and its not like you not a productive citizen
of society.

GOOD LUCK BRUVA

PS( I still can't believe how good my car looks thanks bro )

First of all, Leave the springs on the car, the price to swap them out is gonna be more than you can sell them for (unless you do it yourself). Secondly, are you looking for a House or an APT? I hope a house cuz I'd never sell 2 cars to rent an apartment. Third, sometimes you gotta step back to move forward, so if you have to do this to get out of your house, more power to you. Fourth, If it's a house you're looking for I can hook you up on the loan, let me know. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Jacko, i definately get along with my family. but im 25 now, i want out.

Im looking into a house, id rather not get an apt, or rent a house and pay somebody else's mortgage.

you guys arent the first that have told me to stay as is now and save save save. but at this rate i feel like it will take forever..........

well you own the s2k and I assume you own the accord too so as far as I can tell it'd be cheeper to keep them because if you have a loan on the tl-s you're going to need full coverage which will more then just liability on the 2 cars (probably a lot more) and then you have payments on the tl also. drop the theft and colision that's what I'd do.
