Fellas:
Suggestions on leaving NYC in the am for a fun drive, lunch and a few hrs hanging out before returning?

You could also go to West Point - just be cautious on the roads in Harriman for police...the roads are beautiful in the area with terrific scenery, and you can hang out at West Point for a few hours and eat lunch there.

If you get off at exit 109 of the Parkway, you can duplicate the cruise route I used for the NJ Shore Meet. It's a pretty good drive and it takes you through Red Bank which is a really cool town to hang out in and grab a bite to eat (just don't go onto Sandy Hook until after Labor Day).

I went up to Cold Spring/ Rhinebeck last week, B Mtn along the way.
BTW, we haven't made the long drive to the Hyde Park Drive In for a long time - it's a blast coming home late on the Taconic or 684.
