Final Call 4 the BarBQue Bus !

Final Call 4 the BarBQue Bus !!!

We will be turning the hand crank and starting the engine at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night ( 12/18/04 ) . We will then be heading over (or under) the great river to that barbque in the sky !!!

All those traveling on the Bus -- PLEASE be at my place no later than 6:45 p.m. -- I would suggest you come at 6:30 p.m. if you want to partake of some pre-drive spirts.

All are welcome ... as of this writing we will be able to all travel in one vehicle; if more show we will just whip out another vehicle; and worse comes to worse we will take out a third one and become a train !!!

The plan is to get to the restaurant and eat/drink our little hearts out. If anyone gets really carried away we can accommodate several bodies in various areas of our house for the night. There will be no need for anyone to take any risk of DWI. If you feel that you might be inclined to drink a bit much, please bring a tooth brush, your favorite pillow, and a blanket or two with you.

As for after dinner activities -- Jackie and I will go with the flow; and we can take sealed written votes on what we want to do before we leave the restaurant. The majority will rule. We should all bear in mind that our expected arrival time in Mineola from New Jersey will be anywhere from midnight the earliest to 2:30 a.m. the latest. My idea was that I would buy discount (I can get them for $6.50 a person) tickets to see a late late showing of a movie; I have not gotten any positive responses to this idea - but it is still an option.

Any questions ? NO ? good.

Grrrr...Heard from HTG yet? I'm thinking I should bring the t-bird, so I can return home with my tranny. Question...I've got an S2000 front fender for NJSY2K!, think it will fit in the rear area of the bus? I'll bring it to your place in the t-bird if you think it will fly....Jay will take it off our hands at the bbq....if not I may leave it at your place so it is closer to him for pickup from NJ....I'll be there at 6:25 either way

Update....talked to Jeff, he's anticipating 5pm arrival at Eliot's....He'll be bringing his bro, my tranny, and a driver for Eliot's car for the 2.2 surgery. So it may be benificial for Jeff to take Eliot's car to the bbq, not sure how pressed for time he is....So Eliot, you questioned "Questions" ? :D

Oh sh-t ... here I am planning this whole barbque bus thing so no one has to take their car to the "ironbound" car theft capitol of the world, and it is my car that is going to end up going there ?? This just doesn't sound too good (or fair). I guess I will bring a sandwich in a bag and stand outside near my car and watch it while everyone else has a great time....

Bill - As for the fender in the rear area -- there is expected to be no rear area because the third seat is going in there for the passengers. No problem with leaving the fender at my place for future pick-up though. OR OR OR -- how about the roof of the bus ????

ooooo lol you LI folks are too funny. Newark is not that bad...at least not anymore. Police have really beefed up over there. I remember the street races were there for hours until the cops showed up.

Last I heard, if you even had a loud exhaust, they pull you over. Especially civics (stolen engine capital).

So maybe I should put a loud exhaust on my car so that when it gets stolen the cops will pull it over and I will get it back ?

 Guys, the that side of Newark, the "Ironbound" section really is not bad at all. Trust me, i go there often!
If youre ethnic, youll appreciate all the great restaurants, bars, bakeries in the area. Just walking around the Ferry st area makes you hungry! ;)
The smell of BBQ meats in the air, baking of breads etc etc. Yumm !!!!!!!!!
