Got Ticket a short while back for No Insurance

There is no fine listed on it and wants me to plead not guilty or guilty. I don't know which to do, I do have insurance and which do I check off? I don't want to plead guilty and then have a million fines associated with it. Please help! I will send a copy of my insurance card and the ticket back to them regardless. This happened in NY.

Thanks in advance!

Probably best off calling the actual court and explain your situtation (you don't understand what to do).

In NJ, anyway, if you get a no INS fine and go to court to talk to the prosecture (sp), he'll usually let you off just paying the court fees if you can show him a valid INS card. Not sure how it works in NY.

this happened to me in nj as well...my insurance was expired i had not received the new card in the mail yet...the cop was actually supposed to tow the car...but yeah he just told me to bring an updated copy of the insurance card to court

This actually happaned to me before. I couldnt find my insurance card at the time when I got pulled over, but eventually found it when the cop already printed out the ticket. I explained to him that I really do have insurance and it was right in my hand, but i just couldnt find it, but he told me there was nothing he could do.

ended up going to court and the cop testified for me saying that I did have my insurance card on me, but only after he printed it out. Everythign was settled, except i wasted an entire night at court, and ended up having to pay a court fee.

not sure if this helps. but good luck

im guessing that if the date of the insurance card is saying you were insured at the time of the ticket, it shouldn't be a problem

Plead not guilty, go to the court date they assign you, set things straight.

yea all you have to have is proof that you are insure, goto the insurance company and have them print out a watermarked letter signed by them that you were insure, then your good

When I still have my provisional license, I was driving my dad's MDX with 4 others in the car (illegal), fireworks (illegal), going 65 in 55 (illegal) AND I couldn't find my dad's insurance since I rarely drove that car (illegal). I should have lost my license for a while as well as 1000's in fines for the fireworks, but he let me off with a $44 ticket for not finding insurance :D
