inspection help?!
my dad just got a roush stage 3 mustang, used with 2500 miles
but it wont pass inspection?
it was tuned by laroccas or something in new jersey by the other owner last year and they are now out of business?
it has its cat and everything...perhaps something with the o2 sensor? does anyone know a "guy" who can help with passing inspections?
i met some guys at a mustang shop who do it that way....just wondering
my s passed no problem today at huntington honda

the failed inspection sheet says:
OBD monitor readiness status:
Catalyst: Not Ready
Evaporative System: Not Ready
OBD monitor readiness status:

Evaporative System: Not Ready
For my 2005 model car I am allowed by NYS to have 1 monitor in a not ready state...
and do not clear the codes while you are trying to get the "monitors" ready otherwise you will make all the monitors go into the "not ready" state

If you've been driving around and have not got one monitor to run (as 05yellow said you only need one more to complete) you are missing the enable criteria.
Some evap monitors, in systems that use an LDP (leak detection pump) will not run until the tank is half full.
Cat USUALLY need sustained hwy driving at 60 mph for a few minutes.
It's different for every car/system.

As I was struggling to get my car to pass NYS OBD2 inspection, this one pamphlet helped me out to understand how the OBD2 system works..
