Longterm storage: Hardtop on or off?

Quick question as I've searched but couldn't really find anything. For long term storage should I remove the hardtop top, put in on the stand and put the soft top up? Or is it okay as is. I don't want to mess up the soft top from having it in down position for too long. TIA

Since 02 my car has been garaged (unheated) from Nov to April with the hardtop on. Most years the hardtop will stay on till mid May/early June and put back on late Sept /Oct. No issues with soft top, in fact it still has the OE top.

I think the hardtop will be less likely to be damaged if its on the car. But, I don't know how you would be storing it off the car either.

Clean and condition (303) your soft top and put it down, put the h/t over it and be done.

Soft top down. Puts less strain on straps. Downside is that you'll develop creases in the soft top. However, if you have a hardtop no need to worry. Creases go away over time in sun anyways. Also save yourself some room and store hardtop on the car.

I Made a hoist and have it suspended over the car and I have the soft top up to prevent creasing and what not

I think its best to put soft top down, with some sort of cylinder wherethe soft top fold to prevent any creases is thebest

I've got the hardtop stand, i'll probably throw it on there.

I've had my hardtop on continuously for ~3 years and upon removing it then putting up the soft-top it had some creases which went away after few hours under the sun.
