Looking for LI real estate help....
Hey everyone....I am looking to purchase a home for myself sometime in the Spring/Summer of next year. I am looking for a townhouse, or something like it, with a garage, and at least 2 bedrooms. I don't want to go past .....say exit 40 on the LIE, but I will if the property is something special. The south shore (like Farmingdale) is a bit too far, as I work in the city, and my entire life is in the queens, bayside, Nassau area.
Does anyone know where I should begin to look for something like this?
I like nice, quiet, green areas.
I would like to keep it under 500K if possible (tall order I know)....
If anyone has any input, I would greately appreciate it.
P.S. To give you an idea what I am looking for, if any of you have ever been to Lorie's house in Annandale, that is EXACTLY what I am looking for.

Look in about a year instead of the spring, the market will only get better for a buyer with good credit and $$$ down. Plus you will be able to get a beter house then what you have in mind.

Glen Cove there are a few townhouse/duplex communities but they only come up once in a while.
Westbury has The Horizon and a townhouse community down the street right off Post Ave. Nice section of town and lots to do food and mall wise. At either you will be in the $400s - low $500s.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.

How did you know? LOL! Yeah I am in real estate. Can't help but post in Real Estate threads. I would really check out Westbury though, lots of choices and a great central location.

Instead of a townhouse which has home owner charges, why not a house? Parents downsized this year into a townhouse in North hills, but the home owners charges are unbelievable. Almost enough to pay for a small apartment in Flushing!
I'm curious what 500k would buy in northern nassau. If my wife werent a teacher in northern westchester, Bayside and Nassau would be my first choice.
