Well I just came back from the drag strip. Etown gives away 1 free drag run usually every tuesday so I figured I'd test my luck and see how high of a mph I can get.
Notice I say MPH, not a 1/4 mile time. with 400+hp I'm in no position to launch the car on the stock rear end pretty much (plus I want to sell it). So heres the raw data
When I was stock, I ran a 14.4 @ 86mph (missed 4th gear ) with a 2.2 second 60'
With 200hp more, I ran a 14.0 but it was at 110mph with a 2.6 second 60' (slipped the clutch, no launch)
I think I need to stick with autox / road courses, drag racing sure as hell is not my thing (especially with the stock diff still installed)
Good news is there was a C5 lined up next to me, he launched and took off and I still passed him going down the strip . Gotta love the power
Also, anyone have a fix for the second gear grind? I couldn't get the car into 2nd for about a second heading down the strip...it would just grind and not engage despite the clutch all the way to the floor. Damn the s2000 tranny and that stupid gear!

I'll show you how to fix the 1-2 grind at tech day
Maybe then, I can floor it in first gear without grinding into second

your 60ft killed u.
when i went to e-town last year i did exactly the same, feather out the clutch in fear of grenading the diff.
so you won't be at honda day w/ the car since u are selling it?
Looks like i'm the only one from around here that's turbo.

I'll definatly be at honda day but probably be the slowest FI s2k there unless I get my R200 diff. Then comes the 5k rpm dump coupled along with some drag radials

when i did e-town about a month or so ago, i did the same thing you did... just let out the clutch like i was starting from a stop sign and did a 13.2@113... i also dont want to destroy the diff.... you just gotta work to your strengths.... realize the car is a highway monster and keep destroying corvettes, or invest in reinforced drivetrain for launchs....
