OEM HONDA replacement key / NJ dealer feedback
 

I was calling around last week to get a replacement key ( incl. remote ) for a 2008 S2000, and got widely different quotes from 5 different HONDA dealers in northern NJ.

HONDA Paul Miller in West Caldwell got me a good deal (key w/o Honda logo $61, programming $70 + tax), the remote I got of eBay for $25 (OEM I was quoted $306 + tax) and it took just 2 minutes to program.

Thought I pass this on as I saved myself a couple of hundred bucks going this route and calling up multiple vendors. Dealer asked to leave the car there for the day (which I refused), and then the whole programming was done in less than 1/2h. None of the dealers I called was willing to cut and/or program a key I didn't buy in their shop.

this is what i did when mine came with 1 key.

purchase S2000 logo OEM key $75
remote: $25
local key store for programming and cutting: $75

i didn't bother with dealers.

Do you mind sharing the name of the local key store? I thought this could only be done at the dealer.

Griffith500, any chance that you called Mahwah Honda for quote?
