New York has a highly invasive required annual inspection . Much worse than here in Virginia where we're at least spared the emissions check. NY emissions is a ODB2 check and there's no way around it I found if the car had the port as original equipment, which they do.

Here in Virginia I just have my "normal" cars inspected at the dealer when they get their routine maintenance. Every auto shop and tire place here will do the inspection of the S2000.

No annual inspection when I lived in Ohio, emissions were only every three years and only in 5 counties. The lack of annual "safety" inspections will be obvious to anyone driving thru Ohio judging from the hundreds of broken down and wrecked cars littering the shoulders.
