S2000 Track Event - READ MY LAST POST (VERY IMPORTANT)
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, its here. It's time to have our very own S2000 track day. Ridehvmc is the club hosting the event. Thanks to Dan (DHonovich) for working this out for us. I have listed below all the information you will need for this event. Please understand that no roll bar is required, I'm 6 feet tall and will be able to participate in this event. This event will be taking place at New York Safety Track which is located next to Albany, NY. Depending how many people register for the event will determine how many run groups we will have. As of now, we are trying to do a beginner group and a more advance group. We are also trying to get a minimum of 30 cars (S2000's only).
Like always, we are trying to have a great day and push our cars in a safe environment. We will have corner workers on the track to make sure everyone is safe at all times.

Hotels

Instructors
It will depend on how many people register for the event and there experience. We will have instructors, but at limited amounts. DHonovich will be helping out with this as he tracks often and knows this track well.
Helmets
You must bring your own helmet for the event. The helmet must be SA2005 or SA2010 rating. I have attached a site where you can purchase them from
http://www.saferacer.com/
Track Time
We start at 7am to get the cars ready.
Drivers meeting at 8:15am (all drivers must be at the drivers meeting). We start running cars at 9am and the event will end around 4pm or 5pm. You will get about 3 hours of driving time.
Track Insurance
Most if not all of your insurance companies will NOT cover you if something happens to you or your car at the track. So we provided an insurance company that many track guys use when they run at the track. This is NOT a requirement to attended the event. But many guys do get it as they know they will be covered if something was to happen.

Your S2000 & Tech inspection
Please make sure your car is in good working order including your brake fluid (stock brake fluid will not work), you need ATE or another high performance brake fluid. Make sure your brake pads have at least 75% life on them as you will be using your brakes. Make sure your car is not leaking any type of fluid as this can go on the track and make it dangerous for other drivers. Please make sure that you have all of your lug nuts to your wheels. Everything in the car will have to come out the day of the event so bring a plastic container or a large black garage bag to put your stuff in. Your car must pass tech inspection for you to run on the track.
Please be sure to bring blue tape or any other color masking tape so you can please a number on your car during the event. Everyone will be required to have a number on there car during the event. We will determine everyone's number at the event. I also attached a link for a site where you can have numbers created if you have a certain number you like to use. I personally run magnetic numbers from this site (see below)

Once you register for the event, please post up that you registered and what skill level you are (beginner, intermediate, or advance) Please be honest
Thank you all and hope to see you at our very first S2000 track event
If there are any questions about the event, please post them up and DHonovich or I will be able to answer them

Thanks for putting this thread together! I can't wait to hear a bunch s2000's screaming around the track together. I wanted to set up a day where I could get s2000's on track without a roll bar so that people can run their s2000 where it shines before spending the money on a proper rollbar setup.

Just did a trackday at NYST last Saturday.. First time on that track and liked it!!
it's more technical and fun track compare to NJMP thunderbolt.
let me know if you need a place to stay.. there is a private house 1 mile from the track for $200 a night for the whole house. (4 bedrooms private house that can fit 8 persons) if you only need to use 2 rooms (4 persons) its $125 a night.
Picture of the house that we rented for one night.

Like Xtian8, I was also there this past weekend on my motorcycle. I also drove the s2000 during lunch on Saturday for several laps to make sure it's fun--and it is! ;]
