Hi guys,

I'm looking to purchase an AP2 S2k in the lakewood area and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for shops in the area that you trust to perform a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI).

There's a Honda dealership right down the road from the dealership that has the vehicle but I figured I would ask to see if there is a reputable s2k specialty shop that would know exactly what to look for in the car.

I would not recommend a Honda dealership for any kind of service/inspection. If you can drive the car to Long Island, then contact Billman.

theres a few depending on the day i can even help you look at it. if the owner doesnt mind bringing it up to jefferson NJ i have someone that can do a PPI

The car is not being sold privately, but is located at a dealership in Lakewood, so I doubt they would be willing to take it very far...

There are a bunch of things that you could and should pay attention to when you are inspecting the vehicle. I just did basic checks, but when Billman looked at the car I purchased, he unveiled quite a few places that I missed.

Thanks for the response. I followed the "what to look for new buyers" thread and basically went down the list, but I'm fairly new to S2k's so I don't feel confident buying without a solid PPI.

Billman is the main s2k mechanic in the country. the guy knows them inside out. i can help you look it over in detail but his expertise on anything not easily seen is what makes it good. I would check the compression if possible, def drive it around. look the for usual s2k fixit items. Check the compliance bushings to see if they have ripped.
