From what I read on a Volkswagen forum, the owner has been getting offers for significantly more than what he was originally asking.

I had a feeling that might happen. Especially since more people are starting to realize there's a good chance the S2000 may become a future collectible.

If these cars do become highly sought after years from now, it's definitely the 1st year models that will be worth the most...especially in a rare color-combo like that one.

Obviously the CR's will always be desirable.
