Default Subaru WRX STI

We'll I just gave away my daily driver to my parents (VW) and i guess i'm car shopping again...

with the winter season hitting it made me realize i somewhat need a car i can drive during all seasons... seeing how im in the army, i figured a truck wouldnt be to bad, but i hate trucks... lol. maybe thought an suv wouldnt be to bad either but i couldnt find one that i particularly liked. so i figured maybe ill just go with a subie...

whats your opinion on this? i basically need a car to drive everywhere at any time and any place... figured the car should be well suited for that. i'm not looking for a new car and for pre-owned, the price range isnt really all to bad.

EVERYBODY HERE IS GOING TO BE PARTIAL TO THE HONDA OR ACURA PRODUCT LINE. MY FRIEND HAS A WRX LIMITED AND HE CANT STAND IT. THE RIDE IS WAY TOO HARD, AND ITS ALREADY BEEN THROUGH A TRANSMISSION AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL. NOTHING IS GOING TO HOLD UP LIKE A HONDA.

A wrx is not an STi. The WRX tranny is a lot weaker thats why people upgrade to an STi tranny because they are practically bullet proof. I think you will like the STi.....minus a clunking noise you sometimes get from the rear. The ride quality, it's not great if you are looking for luxury but I think it rides more comfortably than an S2000.

Mitsubishi Evolution? the new BMW coupes or sedans with the x trim? umm audi?

go for the german skyline GT-R AKA-- 335xi.. the R32,R33, and R34 and the BMW 335xi all have inline 6, twin turbo, AWD, 6 Speed. Coupe body style. not to mention get a chip and exhaust and you will smoke the new M3...

'on a side note i am selling a 04 STi to a customer this week and its costing him about 20k with 28k miles on it, thats alot cheaper than a new 335.

4 door Si is a great car and replacement for a Mazda 3. If you want to move up to an STi, do that. STi is a good choice. Get an 06/07!

My vote would be a Honda Pilot

Its pretty good on gas and the ride is great very comfortable SUV
The thing you forgetting maybe with all these all wheel drive cars
is none of them come with winter tires and even with there all wheel
drive if you get more then a few inches of snow good luck while your
average SUV comes with all season tires plenty of room for snowboarding
gear and even with a foot of snow you'll be fine

I own a slightly moded 04 STi and a 07 S2000. Trust me you will not be disappointed with an STi. All around it's been the best and most fun to drive car I've ever owned, S2K included. It's versatility and performance are unmatched by cars costing more than 3 times the price.
