I say get a Jeep Srt-8, best bang for the buck, comes with brembos and is faster then the cayenne s.
and you can actually take them around turns at decent speeds, they dont sit as high as an jeep

I used to own an s2k when it got totalled I picked up an 04 sti. I like the car a lot. it is hard to compare it to the s2k because they are totally different cars. I felt that the honda was made better. It just felt like a better quality car all around. The interior materials, the sound the doors made when it closed etc, and over all fit and finish. The honda takes the cake. As for the sti it is a great car in its own right. If you get a sti dont worry about the tranny or diff taking a sh*t on you. The tranny on sti's are totally different and a lot stronger than a wrx tranny. With a sti tranny people have ran in the 400-500whp range w/o a problem. it is a popular upgrade for wrx owners looking to handle extra power safely. I think that the sti is a good car for a dd especially for where we live. There is going to be snow and being able to drive in it is a necessity. The sti does have a stiff ride but if your buying the car you should expect it. The sti chasis is very rigid. As for performance its is still hard to compare, i think it matters what you are looking for. the sti is a faster car in a straight line hands down, especially when modded.s2k has corner entry but sti can pull it back on the exit with the awd. I think the s2k was more fun to drive and for me atleast let me feel more in tune with the car and in a better position to control it. hope that helps.
