Suggestions needed for road trip to vineyard
Hi guys,
I could use your help with suggestions of vineyards in the area that I could plan a road trip to visit with a girl I just started dating. I wanted to take her for a ride in the S to someplace scenic so I figured who better to ask...
Are there any places that you could recommend that we could make a day trip out of?
-Thanks
P.S. I also posted a similar thread in the upstate chapter

Hey Norm - Two places:
Out in the Lehigh Valley in PA, there is actually a wine trail. I drove it a few years ago with the local Miata club. (http://www.lehighvalleywinetrail.com/) Also, in Hunterdon county NJ, there are quite a few vineyards.
I found this: http://www.frenchtowner.com/bucks-hu...n-county/wine/ - there is a map on there thats pretty detailed with stuff in that area as well.
If you go in a few weeks, there's also the balloon festival. I think its the 28/29th this year.
Enjoy - Gary

I forgot what the name is but I believe it is Pugliese Vineyards in Cutchogue on route 25
Real nice place with a huge yard, a pond, and tables and chairs set outside. Very relaxing and defenitely a place to earn some brownie points

New Hope Guy... ever been? lots of places to eat, neat stores and goofy people to look at... up a twisty road along the river is the Sand Castle Winery... not to be missed.

Lots of vineyards out on the North Fork:

I second the North Fork. I go out at least once a year.
A nice, but long, day trip is starts with some of the a tour of some of the the North Fork wineries heading out towards Greenport...
take the ferry from Greenport to Shelter Island, then ferry from Shelter Island to the South Fork...
Dinner/drinks in Sag Harbor...
Back to the city.
On the weekend you'll get CRUSHED with traffic and the wineries will be jammed.
Try to take off on a Monday.
