Default Track time - NJMP Thunderbolt with NNJR PCA June 25-26

Hey guys!

Just another head-up for the track event NNJR PCA will have at NJMP Thunderbolt circuit in the end of June (25-26th). It will be a 2 day event with a very attractive price of $350 for instructed groups (green, blue) and $300 for solo drivers. Their policies are very similar to RTR PCA - you will need to pass a pre-track tech inspection at the approved facility and they require roll-bar if you don't pass a broomstick test. Registration opened today and green group has already 15 people registered. Their instructed groups will get sold out pretty quick. So act fast if you are interested in attending. Thunderbolt is a great track for our cars.
Hopefully I will see some S2K drivers there!
Registration is here:

^ No problem. Blue group is waitlisted already but once more instructors register people will be able to get in. If you never been to this track I would suggest yellow run group with NNJR. Or the best thing is E-mail them and ask which group to register in given your experience.

Alex, is this your only event for June, or are you doing another NJMP on June 10-12? I had my calendar marked June 10-12 but don't remember the details of why. Or are we doing this event instead?

June 10-12 is the RTR PCA Lightning event which I can't do - we are going to Montreal for F1 race! I wish I can be at both places at the same time. Wade is doing the RTR event. I haven't heard whether he is doing this Thunderbolt event. Clyde I believe is signed up for it though. Also remember that RTR PCA doesn't have Thunderbolt event this year, so you have to it it with someone else if like it... I did it last year with NNJR and had a blast!

If I am able to do this what is your recommendation for a 1st timer on the track (with my S)??...I have tracked my 07 Gixxer countless times on Thunderbolt and know the track like the back of my hand!!! Anddd what is a broom stick test? I have a practically stock S, but am really wanting to get on the track!!

Nevermind I found it...

Convertibles must have a roll bar which passes the broomstick test or have a hard top in place.
Unless the maufacturer's owners manual says your convertible will support itself by the windshield frame in the event of a roll over(ala: Porsche Boxster and Honda S2000), your convertible needs a roll bar. The broomstick test reveals clearance for your helmet clad head while sitting in the driver's seat with a broomstick" (or similar device) set atop the roll bar and the windshield frame. Your helmet clad head must have clearance under the broomstick. Personally with any convertible, or hard top for that matter, a roll bar is a good idea even with a convertible hard top in place.
