what tools to carry at all times?

For autox and normal driving, I have a tool kit made mostly of HF tools (cheap in case they are lost/stolen). I carry them in a tool bag, canvas, zip up type with waterproofing spray on it.
Socket set (deep well)
Ratchet wrench set
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Vice grips
Wire cutters
adjustable wrench
Small hammer (HF has a cheap one that is only about 8 inches long .. great for a tool bag and for getting into tight spots)
Electrical tape
Wire ties
$5 multimeter ... good enough for checking a circuit or ensuring basic voltage is there and system is charging
Small pry bar
Razor knife
Headlamp
Small pittsburgh compressor (12V kind that tons of us use for autox ... was about $15)
Code reader
All of that just barely fits into my tool bag. I actually have a set of Klien waxed canvas tool bags that I use to organize wrenches, electrical, etc within the bigger bag to make it easier to find things.
That bag is fairly small and I carry it to every autox and throw it into the other cars for trips. I plan to make one for every car. I made one up for our nephew this Christmas so he has it and does not have to carry is nicer tools in the car.
Now when I go to Nationals, I tend to carry a box with a lot of other tools in case a larger repair is needed, but for nats I am towing and have a pickup.

Soft tool bag. 16" long variety I think. Similar to this one, but a different brand. Still from harbor freight though.

I do want to get a booster pack to throw in as well. I am missing that in mine. I lost the charger connector for the one I have so have not been carrying it.

Actually when I go on a run I like to carry a small set of combination metric wrenches. One end is racheted. Two Flat head and Phillips screwdrivers one large and one small each, A set of 3/8 drive metric sockets, a couple of zip ties some duct tape and a flashlight, credit card and just in case all else fails a Holy Bible.

I've been trying to find a CR trunk/tool kit for some time but haven't had any luck.
I don't carry anything besides a boostmax or jumper cables in my s2000. In my truck i carry a full size 2.5 ton jack, 1/2" breaker bar, 1/2" sockets, 3/8" ratchet/sockets kits metric and sae, a tow strap, plug kit, and an electric impact.

Like billman said: tireug kit and compressor. 1/2” breaker bar with thin walled socket and rim lock. The s2000 is one of the most reliable cars. I feel confident in bringing nothing else
