WTB: Integra Type-R

Hello, I am looking for a car that I always wanted but was scared to own due to thieves. I now have space for this car. Just like my S2000, this would be a forever car so the right one is important. If anyone knows anyone that would be interested in selling, please let them know I am a serious buyer. Thanks!

Yup. End thread. BaT is the answer. While never cheap, that's where most of the survivors end up.

Thanks guys - I have already been the high bidder of this car but it has too many unanswered questions and has a story -- I don't think I am willing to bid as high as the market will for this R. People go crazy for the '97 -- I personally like the front end of the 98+ more but am open to it at the right price.

Regarding the Z360 - I looked at it and it seems fun to drive but I don't have any connection to it.

myclue 06-15-2018 06:28 AM

Yea, the front bumper paint and fitment seems a bit off

dedonderosa 06-15-2018 07:03 AM

yeah i prefer a 98 as well. looks better IMHO

HiPER 06-20-2018 11:27 AM

So I now own a Type-R

Also, with some research I was able to track down the original owner who had it from 1997-2010 and he answered all my concerns. After that conversation, my concerns are gone and he will be sending me some leftover stuff from the Integra! He is a guy that raced NSXs and Porsches at 24 Hours at Daytona. This car has also never seen the track and has been stock.

New thread on "WTB: Guard Dog that will shred thieves" coming soon

Awesome! I also would like to have a Type R in my collection some day. Now seems like the best time to buy.

myclue 06-27-2018 10:49 AM

Pics already!!

engifineer 06-27-2018 12:23 PM

I like them but will likely never own them. Would not probably pay the price people want for them and there is the theft issue.

A guy and his wife used to autox one in our club. Very clean original low mileage car and garage kept. She drove it to work a couple of times. Left it parked outside ... stolen and found stripped later.

Plus, to me a car is wasted if it is rarely driven, especially a car that is only special at all because of performance items (otherwise it would just be another Integra) from the factory. If I dont drive it much or autox, track it, etc then to me it is just a hunk of metal I paid too much for.

Very cool you found the one you did. Keep an eye on it!

Arrived last Friday from the West coast. Cleaned it up a little. Excited but I dropped it off at a secret location in Pennsylvania

HiPER 07-17-2018 03:54 PM

Does anyone know a good dealership or shop where I can get a few things done

-timing belt plus the other items that come with it
-inspect steering/tie rod/bushings

Langelo DeMysterioso 07-18-2018 04:32 AM

If you wanna come to NYC try RPM

trcydaman 07-19-2018 08:37 AM

I second RPM. That's where I brought my S2k to get a new motor in. They had all kinds of enthusiast JDM cars there.

I assume you're Nick from their google reviews?
Did you buy the motor from them? How much was the full swap if you don't mind me asking? Something I will pursue when mine inevitably goes in the future, rather than try to have a shop rebuild it.

Yup, that's me. I bought the motor from a guy on Facebook and had it shipped direct to RPM. They did a bunch of other things while they were doing the swap (header, motor mounts, clutch, etc.). I provided most parts, except for a few things like the motor mounts. My total was ~$1.9k I think, but it would be lower for just the swap.

The ITR was sold last week and it went to a good home. It is currently being brought back to what the car would have looked like from the showroom in 1997. I put approx 2400 or so miles on the car during my ownership.

The car was replaced with something I am a little more familiar with. ;) The car was already very clean but I couldn’t resist the weather today and cleaned it up so it can be put away for the winter. It has never seen rain let alone salt on the roads as it’s a Southern California car :)

Hey Anuj, sorry i missed you at the meet a couple weeks ago. Would this be the car that was on Bring a trailer?

HiPER 11-28-2018 08:59 AM

No worries. Excited for the next type r, nsx, s2000 meet up

Langelo DeMysterioso 12-02-2018 04:39 AM

Nice Anuj. So you have 2 versions now?

HiPER 12-03-2018 11:58 PM

Yes - the best version and a better version ;)

jk - I think I’ll be going back to an ap1 front end on my ap1 but I’ll need to find good condition headlights and a bumper before I do. This way I truly have two different looking versions.

Thanks for the great deal on the ITR, Anuj. I can't wait to bring it back to 100% stock condition.

OGs

orangebarius 01-12-2019 12:44 PM

Hahaha Anuj forgot all about his NJ friends and didn't even offer to sell me the ITR.

HiPER 01-12-2019 08:54 PM

Must be memory loss in my old age.

Barry, you’re only 2 years away from owning the actual ITR you want ... jdm 96 with 4 lug. How’s that for memory ;)

orangebarius 01-30-2019 05:53 AM

The JDM 4 lug '96 ITR is intriguing, but the US '97 is what I really want....or at least really wanted when I was in high school and college. Now I want a Porsche.
