Thanks for sharing the update. Glad you’re able to find pockets of empathy and support in that big confusing mess. I hope the MoHud guys are close enough to provide some company. If not, you’re making new friends. You’ll have so many good stories to tell us all. I’m looking forward to meeting you once you return.

Today was a practice run and the last of the NON timed practice runs. I was surprised at the number of idiots that elected to go full out and try to make a lap record, only to find themselves in the sand trap.
Once you enter any of the sand traps at the track you are stuck, no way out no matter how hard you try.

So I was trying to be very careful and then followed someone off course, they were pitting and I should have stayed on track.

So tomorrow I need to race my own line, no matter what.

Qualified 10th in the Nation in STU so today is my one and only chance to get a good time on the grid for the week. I hope I can make it to the line, I will be helping my friend Joe put another engine in his S2000 on Monday morning and we will be busy most of the day.

Good luck Greg! Can't wait to watch this race. Locals John and Dina Weisberg are qualified 4th and 5th.

Several days of qualifying races? No need to go balls to the wall every minute. Keep the car together so you can run in the final. Attrition is your friend.

SOOOOOO, 10th place qualifying doesn't mean you get to start in tenth place.
Means you start in 10th for your class STU, so they put me behind the T2 cars in 39th place !!!
We went out and got 1 out lap, one fast lap, one caution lap.
Not pleased, but life goes on.

On the plus side, I spent the morning help mu buddy Joe Boruch Putting in a backup engine,
He had an engine, all the tools and a lifT plus the know how so we did the job in the morning before lunch.
It went rather smooth, Joe (knows all the chords) and all the bolts so it went back pretty smooth.
After lunch he had it fired up so that was a good sign and as I left the track he said he was bleeding the radiator system
Tomorrow will be a new day at INDY !!

Criminies! It looks hard.

I'm sorry that you have to be there all by your lonesome.
