Act fast, openings still available for September 10th Roadster Tour at The Glen
I have been in contact with Jim, he says there are still some slots open.
Skip, Eric and I have already sent in our application and have been confirmed. They did this activity last year and can tell you more about it. All I know is I'm looking forward to 2 hot laps around the original Watkins Glen street course. If you go to the link below you can get answers to your questions and get the registration form. Come on guys, let's show up in force! Knapp Vineyards Sporting Roadster Tour Friday, September 10, 2004 http://www.grandprixfestival.com/roadster.html This 9/10 - 9/12 weekend is the Vintage Grand Prix race weekend at The Glen, and if you have never gone to a vintage race at The Glen let me just say you are missing out on one of the BEST weekends of the year. More about the race weekend at The Glen http://www.theglen.com Skip and Eric, I can't wait for the early morning meetings at our favorite diner. :D |
I will apply now.
|
Are you buying weekend passes also or just going over for Friday?
|
Weekend pass so I can watch the races.
And because the package deal includes two tickets, I'm looking for a date. Rumor is John and Lisa are going to hook me up. :D  I can't wait for John to see that one... |
Faxed registration for friday. Can get admission for weekend for $26 from WGI. What is difference. There always is.
|
I think the only difference is the extra ticket for the race weekend.
| However, if Skip and Eric wake up and hop into this thread :p they will know better than I... |
Do John & Lisa have any other dates that I could hook up with?
|
Originally posted by Triple-H I think the only difference is the extra ticket for the race weekend. | However, if Skip and Eric wake up and hop into this thread :p they will know better than I... $29 @ person for advance ticket purchases (before 5/2) $40 @ person for tickets after 5/2 The cost of the Roadster Tour is $55, so if you buy the Roadster Tour tickets AND the weekend tickets at the same time, you're getting the early purchase price. IOW, the entire cost of the Roadster Tour which includes the lunch, a bottle of wine (my wine snob neighbor and Roadster Tour buddy hates NY wines, so I get it all to myself  ), and tickets for two for the entire weekend is $113. The tour is a blast, especially the two laps of the old race course with other roadsters. If you can't make the Roadster Tour, I would still recommend that you plan on attending the Grand Prix festivities in downtown Wakins Glen that Friday afternoon and evening. It's part automotive Woodstock, part Mardi Gras, part fireman's carnival and ALL FUN. You'll see some great cars, a lot of your car club friends, and all in a very relaxing atmosphere. Who knows?!? Maybe Doug'll buy you a beer. :p |
For the record, I would like to warn everyone that our dear friend Skip is resorting back to his old self. It appears that his S2000 is not good enough for him and he is going back to his Porsche roots. So, while we will be out there driving some true sports cars, he will be posing in a Boxster.
I say we shun him for this transgression. :p |
Huh, what, what??? ;)
