You beat me to the keyboard, guys. The insurance company just called late this afternoon and told me that they consider the S2000 totaled. They’ll be depositing a check in my account soon and be picking up the car within a few days. They were quite fair in the amount they’re giving me and did offer me the chance to buy back the S2000 ($2900), but without a garage or ambition, for that matter, I’m not interested.
My loss could be your gain. I have extra rims, an S2000 Shop Manual, and some old dealer S2000 literature that I will be selling. The saddest part will be leaving an organization I helped to start so many years ago.

Not having the car should not keep you from leaving this organization. I am sure there are plenty who stick around even though they no longer own the car. I hope you will stick around and participate from time to time.

Someone like Jake or anyone with access to a good body shop might get a steal. The hardtop is smashed and the metal on the top right of the windshield is twisted. To me it doesn't look as though the lower body was even touched. I think the insurance company is justifiably concerned that a lot more damage might become apparent once a closer inspection is done. As to what I should buy next, well there's always the new 4C (should Alfa really and truly return stateside) or an Ariel Atom or maybe I should just concentrate on the Wrangler. Jake, do you still have your notes on installing a hemi in a Wranlger

I'm sorry that the car is going to be totaled out by the insurance company. That is such a downer, but hopefully the damage is less than feared and your car will be fixed and go to a good home.
